Love that song. All memorization! Well… I don’t like the stupid emo stereotypes, but you can’t deny it’s good! And catchy….lol At first when I heard it I was so offended cuz I like emo boys and Hawthorne Heights are awesome (from my hometown! Woot!) And I even went through like, a year of cutting myself (NOT trying to be emo). But then I got over that and took it as a joke!

I am planning on starting guitar lessons. Obviously an acoustic is the right way to go in the beginning, so I’m wondering if anyone can give me suggestions as to what guitar I should pick up. I heard the Seagull S6 is a good choice for a reasonable price.

Can someone suggest an acoustic guitar that is under 500 dollars with a good rich sound?

Ideally, the guitar could be found in the bay area (california, like san francisco)

the best bet is any ibanez product. I personally prefer Fender products,but they can prove to be expensive(300-400).Ibanez puts out good starter instruments with good features and are affordable to start .A entry level acoustic or electric could run 200-300 dollars.
Then when you get your skill up, ditch it and buy a Fender. They tend to have a resale value.

Is because they have a mellow tone that’s nice to listen to as they tell the story or is it some other reason?

I think it’s just one of those musical typecastings…you know, like in opera fathers are always baritones, priests are always basses, villains are frequently baritones, young girls are sopranos, mothers and nannies/nurses are mezzos. It’s just one of those things that is just always done that way.

I’m a soprano voice major at a University so i have some experience being in the same boat as you. if you’re looking for original, try going back as far as the 20’s, 30s and 40’s some of the most fun i’ve ever had singing for events was when i sang songs like "when i fall in love", "can’t help falling in love with you" and the like. also, if you’re looking for contemporary the musical Jerkyll and Hyde has some beautiful stuff that isn’t as well known as the Phantom, Wicked and Hairspray… Good luck!
