How do I put music in a external hard drive and put the music on a different computer?

Posted on February 2nd, 2010 by admin in music | 1 Comment »

I noticed that having music on my laptop takes up a lot of space! So I bought an external hard drive to store music and pictures. Except when I bring my external hard drive to my boyfriends house and put my music into his computer and take it out it doesn’t stay on his computer for him to put on his iPod.

1) Make a new folder somewhere on the computer, for examples sake I’ll say the desktop.
2) Copy the songs you want to transfer over.
3) Paste the songs into that folder.

Then add the songs into iTunes by going to add iTunes and going to the toolbar and find something along the lines of add songs by folder and choose the folder that has all your newly added songs.

How was music used during the Vietnam War?

Posted on January 28th, 2010 by admin in music | 2 Comments »

I’m doing a Senior Seminar paper on Vietnam and the music of time. My prof said I should focus on how the younger college age generation used the music to express themselves and just how they used the music in general. Anyone know any good books or sources for this?

You might consider using lyrics of the time as opposed to books and websites.

You can watch the ‘general’ cold war evolve into Vietnam in the lyrics by Dylan, Peter Paul and Mary, [some] Kingston trio, Dave Van Ronk and others of the cusp time when Vietnam was just tuning up. As the worm turned you see CW splitting as a direct result of the war, Folk fading to be replaced by predominantly anti-war lyrics, political lyrics, or ‘civil rights issue’ lyrics.

Merle Haggard, "Okie From Muskogee" and "You’re Walking on the Fighting Side of Me" emerged as a battle flag for the pro-Vietnam War factions, along with a song by an ex-Special Forces guy [name escapes me] "Silver Wings upon His Chest" about the Special Forces.

These songs were countered on the other side by "**shole From El Paso" by Kinky Friedman, "Your Flag Decal won’t Get You Into Heaven Anymore" by John Prine, songs by Steve Goodman, Kris Kristofferson, many others were openly anti-Vietnam War and made it into poplularity

The troops had their own obliquely anti-war preferences in music. We Gotta Get Out of this Place is an example. The song from the broadway musical hair, "Happy Birthday Abey Baby" became fairly popular and reflects the racial side of things. The haunting sound of "We Will All Go Down Together" by Billy Joel, sounds of helicopters in the background maybe covers the whole waterfront.

Jesse Winchester left to avoid the draft during the "Love it or Leave It" stage of things. Later he released a great album, "Learn to Love It" that’s worth a listen.

How do I transfer music from one iTunes list to another?

Posted on January 26th, 2010 by admin in music | 1 Comment »

Alright, so I’ve got like 3 different computers, and I have an iTunes list on each of them and have different music on all of them. So, is there a way that I can compile all my music onto one computer? I know there’s a website out there, but I can’t remember what it’s called. Other than burning all my music onto database CDs or separate music discs, can I get all my songs from one computer to another?
Thank ya!

IM the files then import them to iTunes.

What you need is an iPhone Transfer. It is a program that can help you easily transfer the music on your iPhone from iPhone to iTunes.
Here is a quick guide of how to transfer the music from iPhone to iTunes.
1. Before you start to transfer, please make sure that you have installed the latest iTunes and your iPhone is connecting to your computer.
2. Install and launch iPhone Transfer, this program will read the files on your iPhone
3. Select the mustic you want to transfert to iTunes
3. Just click "iTunes" to trasfer the music to your new iTunes
That is it. It can’t be much easier to get the music to your new iTunes.

How to prepare for a music festival.?

Posted on January 6th, 2010 by admin in music | 2 Comments »

I am giving a demonstrative speech for a class and I choose how to prepare for a music festival. I have been to the Coachella music and film festival three times and I still forget things. Can anyone help me decide what type of things someone should take? I am going to take a bag/sack and fill it with all sort of things so please nothing too big.

i’m not really sure what you mean by music festival.. like as in rock music or wahat music but..
you couold explain different aspects of it, like putting up a stage, getting a security plan in place with security guards, health and safety, advertising (you could bring in some posters and leaflets to show how festivals are advertised).. and stuff.

or if u mean how the person going should prepare then yep a back pack is gd.
say welly boots in case its muddy and you could show how to make a rain pocho out of a bin liner.
in the back put.. spare change of socks and trousers, hand wipes, CAMERA =) phone.. and stuff.
bring a pen incase theres a chance for autograph!
tissues.
. gd luck u chose a fab project!

Classical music. Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, etc. Modern classical would probably apply too: Holst, Bartok.

What are your opinions on downloading music?

Posted on December 16th, 2009 by admin in music | 7 Comments »

Personally I prefer to use Soulseek to download my music. Or The Pirate Bay to download torrents via UTorrent. I don’t think much about the effect it has on the music industry or the bands whose music I am illegally downloading, it’s free and saves me a lot of money.

What are your opinions?

I NEVER download anything, not even legally. I prefer legit CDs because the sound quality of them is way superior to ANY kind of file formats!! FREE downloading and sharing of COPYRIGHTED material (MOST of today’s music is COPYRIGHTED!!) is ALWAYS going to be criminal and ILLEGAL, would YOU really work for 30+ years without getting ANY SALARY from what you do??? I’m sure you won’t, so please reconsider this!!

It is the SHEER HARD WORK that the artists and others do in order to produce the music for us to hear, so they REALLY DESERVE TO BE PAID and PIRACY/FREE DOWNLOADING and SHARING SHOULD BE STOPPED!! PEOPLE WHO DARE TO STEAL MUSIC should be PUNISHED A LOT HARDER THAN WHAT THEY ARE PUNISHED NOW!!!

I am NOT a rich person either BUT I RESPECT the HARD WORK that artists do in order to produce the music for us!!! There is a REASON for this message and for this rant because FREE downloading and sharing is STEALING REGARDLESS OF THE SOURCE!!

How to convert music to your ipod with itunes?

Is it possible to convert music in itunes to a lower quality when you put the music on your ipod?
The music in my itunes library is in high quality, but i would like to convert it to a lower quality on my ipod so i can get more music on it.
Is this possible with itunes or do I need to use other software for this?

Thanks!

Hi, I can recommend you a good iPod Video Converter, it can convert many video formats to video format supported iPod, it also can edit a video, if you want to get a smaller video file, you can use the "Crop" function that adjust the size of the video.
If you want to learn more details about this converter, you can go to

What style of music do you recommend playing at a garage sale?

Posted on November 7th, 2009 by admin in music | 4 Comments »

I’m having a garage sale this weekend. I"m not new to garage sales… I’ve had many over the years, and I always play music in the background. I generally go with either country or "adult contemporary" stations on the radio. But I’m curious about the affects of different music styles on shoppers. Has anybody tried anything different at your sales, and what’s your experience? I’m thinking of maybe playing some salsa or reggae music for fun. What do you think?

i would advise something low key. You don’t want to put off customers.A nice background music not to loud. Light pop music for example. Good luck with your sale
