It’s agnus dei, the classical catholic prayer if i’m not mistaken.
Oh and naturally in latin, but it’s barely distinguishable

An irony appropriate for these comments -

Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona nobis pacem.

    piece of good music …
piece of good music that’s all i hawe to say:)

  13. arivera3426 says:

    who gives a if …
who gives a if it was written by a gay man or it’s about society’s moral values put upon others…this music is ethereal and evokes an emotion only found in humans.

  14. blnzoad says:

    But the Adagio was …
But the Adagio was not just a piece written out of thin air and subject to interpretation. From what i’ve learn personally from him was that this was indeed a tragedy in the life of a gay man and society. You cannot absolutely put your own underlying meaning behind what this was intended. This composition was adopted into an Agnus Dei version well after it was written my dear. You cannot change its original message

  15. sabrinerweener says:

    Musicians typically …
Musicians typically leave the music open to the listener. Please do not try to claim the meaning to one specific tragedy. To others this song means tragedy other than a sexual/societal one and a professional musician like Barber would keep that in mind, so please don’t try to attain a monopoly on his pieces just because you share the same sexual preference. Though it would be a diff story if he explicitly stated what this piece is about. Yet he entitled it “Agnus Dei” for a reason.

  16. blnzoad says:

    This composition …
This composition was a homosexual tragedy between barber’s lover and the bigotry of society. go figure it out

  17. SkellXiller says:

    Blnzoad Im trying …
Blnzoad Im trying to tell u that the thing that Barber was homosexual doesnt makes him so called “your kind” cuz that kind doesnt exist…you just want to be special and you want to have something in common with Barber and I think thats pathetic. And no you guesed wrong, its not that I dont like homosexual peapole its more that I dont like homosexual people who are proud of it because there is nothing to be proud of cuz its a normal thing…Its like I say…Wooohoo yea Im proad to be human !!!

  18. KABOURAS38 says:

    Some people are …
Some people are extremely talented and charismatic and they can be white or black , gay or straight and of any nationality. They are our bright light in an otherwise dark world.

  19. blnzoad says:

    Barber lived with …
Barber lived with his long time husband for many years. I am glad he didnt listen to your bigoted small minded people like most listening on here.

  20. blnzoad says:

    You are missing the …
You are missing the point. We are discussing the Masterpiece of Adagio. You can’t change the face that this PIece of Art was done by a Great Homosexual. LIke I mentioned before, you are disagree with our kind but indulge in our great works. How Pathetic!

  21. SkellXiller says:

    yea well arguing on …
yea well arguing on the internet doesnt have sense, but you cant say that Mozart and Bach and Beethoven were homosexuals cuz you have no evidence of that but I have evidence that they were heterosexuals…and by the way Barber composed this masterpiece by the laws of Harmony that Bach, Beethoven and Mozart invented…

  22. blnzoad says:

    Bach, Beethoven, …
Bach, Beethoven, and mozart were all closeted homosexuals by the way. Even that, I dont consider the likes of them genius in my opinion. There compositions are chaotic and their harmonic rhythems do not flow well whatsoever. What we are discussing here is the Genius of a Barber who Happened to Be an Open Homosexual that I regard in higher esteem that the ones your mentioned. Yea, you can cherry pick your fights but Adagio for Strings can only be composed and understood by other homosexuals.

    you’re right dude.
    you’re right dude.

  24. SkellXiller says:

    well for your …
well for your information Bach, Beethoven and Mozart who made more masterpieces were not gay, and there is no homosexual community because you are not special or different then any other man on this planet….your community is called Mankind…get that in your head that you are normal and not special…and plz stop posting comments like this because they are stupid

  25. blnzoad says:

    because we are gay …
because we are gay that is why!
