“Am” stands for “A minor”, whereas “A” stands for “A major”.
v2 simply stands for “second version”, meaning an alternate way to play a certain chord. Note that the “C v2″ is NOT a C but a Cadd9.
That “C v2″ is NOT …
That “C v2″ is NOT a C chord. It’s a Cadd9 (the basic C major triad with an added 9th interval).
And there’s no need to place the index finger on the B string (unless you’re switching between Cadd9 and C).
