Overcoming Anxiety

Depression, anxiety and panic attacks are the most unbearable things. Anxiety not only gives you pain but with that you also lose many other things in life such as self confidence, motivation, things you cherish most, enthusiasm, hope to live and so on. You fear everything you do and may fail to stand on your feet again.

Anxiety is a natural phenomenon. Just like every human being is different and unique; in the same way, the causes for anxiety are also different. Suffering from anxiety is not a big thing but understanding the problem and curing it is most important in order to eliminate anxiety.

The first step to overcoming anxiety is consulting your doctor. He will help you by with many treatments like talk therapy. The major cause of anxiety is tension. You will suffer from a feeling within yourself that makes you think that you cannot do anything. With the help of a doctor you can detect your trouble. Then only he will be able to tell the exact solution to your problem.

When you have this feeling that you are going to have a panic attack; or a situation of extreme anxiety; take a deep breath, hold it for 2 seconds then with the help of your mouth exhale the air. Repeat the process twice or thrice. It will help you in relaxing your mind.

The next step to overcome anxiety is feel the environment, go for a walk if you want and concentrate on what is around you like your surroundings, the people around you. Try to remember what you see; as this will help you in distracting your mind from your problems and lets you concentrate on what you see. You will live in the present moment which will help you avoid other anxiety causes.

Talk to your friends or your loved ones that are aware about your anxiety. Tell them to talk to you about general topics and other things. This will help you concentrate on the conversation and you will be able to keep your mind away from other mental symptoms.

Watch a funny movie, or think about things that are funny. Eat lots of vegetables and fruits. Feel fresh, good and healthy. The most important step which you have to do is face your fear. For example if you are afraid of dogs then face the dog. Don’t let your fear take the best of you.

The key to overcoming anxiety is relaxation. You can do relaxation by a hot shower bath or a massage. Anxiety might also give you many sleepless nights because you tend to think of unnecessary things in your life; thinking over it again and again. Concentrating on your diet will also help.
