Mozart - Ave verum corpus - Vienna boys choir

Posted on August 10th, 2009 by admin in choir | 25 Comments »

*———-*———-*

Mozart’s final completed sacred work was written on 17 June 1791, for the feast of Corpus Christi at the request of Anton Stoll, choirmaster at Baden where Mozart was visiting with his wife Constanze.

*———-*———-*

Hail the true body, born
of the Virgin Mary:
You who truly suffered and were sacrificed
on the cross for the sake of man.
From whose pierced flank
flowed water and blood:
Be a foretaste for us
in the trial of death.

*———-*———-*

Salve, verdadero cuerpo,
nacido de María Virgen,
que fue inmolado en la cruz
por los hombres,
cuyo lado perforado manó sangre y agua,
dejanos degustarte
en el trance de la muerte.

PS22 Chorus “LANDSLIDE” by FLEETWOOD MAC (acoustic version)

Posted on August 4th, 2009 by admin in beautiful chorus | 25 Comments »

http://ps22chorus.blogspot.com

Another request from our friend Perez Hilton and so so beautiful on the kids. This has always been one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs, and the kids do it incredible justice. Tori Amos also has covered this many times as well as the Dixie Chicks and countless others. Of course no one sings this like Stevie Nicks, but we hope she would be proud. Cheers to the chorus for putting this rendition out into the universe, and of course, to Perez himself, who asked for a Fleetwood Mac song. Great choice!! A landslide was never such a beautiful thing. The part that tugs my heartstrings the most? “Even children get older…. I’m getting older too.”

The PS22 Chorus is a kids choir of 60 kids from a new york city public elementary school. They are slowly but surely taking over the world….. and we who are fortunate enough to work with them, feel quite blessed. And of course, thanks to Perez for all of your unbelievable support for the past 2 years! Keep those requests a’comin! :)

PS22 Chorus “Let There Be Peace On Earth” (BEAUTIFUL a capella)

One of the most beautiful things you’ll ever hear. The chorus covers the Christmas traditional, “Let There Be Peace On Earth”

The kids learned this in just 2 weeks. Samantha does a gorgeous job on the solo, and the chorus is in best form. It’s a stunning version of the song, and you can’t possibly NOT be moved by this…..
