My family and I have lived on opposite coasts for the last five years. I live in New England and they live in California. Whenever I visit them I am concerned about jet lag. I make several trips to see them each year. It has been my experience that I usually don’t suffer too much after my westward flight but returning to the East Coast always gives me jet lag. For me, jet lag gives me a headache, makes me feel groggy and makes me have some trouble sleeping. I find that the condition is the worst the day after I get home. Because of jet lag I always make sure that I leave myself one day in between my arrival home and going back to work. I find that if I drink a lot of water and try to get some extra sleep I can get through with ease.
